Joyful and responsible

The Centre is organised on the basis of self-management.

The youngsters easily integrate the concept that, first and foremost, the Centre belongs to them. They, therefore, take good care of it.

They take turns doing their daily chores such as gardening, dishwashing, cooking, cleaning, taking care of animals, cleaning bathrooms. Each child is individually responsible for taking care of his own linen and clothing.

The children learn how to enjoy taking initiative and cooperating. We require everyone to respect the rules but they are free to do their tasks and to organise themselves as they wish.

Our visitors are surprised by the creative vitality of our children who plant their vegetable and rock gardens, their trees and flowers, build their huts, pave their paths, work around the ponds, create their games, organising themselves without clannish rivalry.

This approach gives them self-esteem and creates a joyful, harmonious atmosphere of sharing and respect. They are autonomous.

Every evening all the children gather to discuss the day and their positive and negative experiences. Those in charge organise meetings to educate them about drugs; the children express themselves frankly and become aware of what drugs are dangerous, how and why.
